Estel Roman Quarry

quarry · 30 BC – 2100 AD

A limestone quarry from which was sourced the stone used in the construction of the Pont du Gard. The quarry was excavated in the late 1990s and early 2000s on a site 600-700 meters northeast of the aqueduct bridge.
