Sanctuary of Artemis Soteira (Phigaleia)

Pausanias describes a Sanctuary of Artemis Soteira located at Phigaleia, noting that it stood atop a level hilltop and that there was a standing cult image made of stone. A sacred procession of the local people commenced from the sanctuary site.
