House of the Faun
ruin · 330 BC – 2100 AD
A large private residence constructed ca. 180 BCE in Pompeii (VI.12.2). Its modern name derives from a bronze statue of a faun placed in its impluvium. The house also contained the Alexander Mosaic, a large-scale depiction of the Battle of Issus.
