Yeovil

In 1925, Alderman Mitchelmore excavated a Roman courtyard villa at Yeovil. This site is located to the west of Seaton Road, Westland, Yeovil. Excavations continued in 1927/8 under Ralegh Radford. On September 15, 1916, a coin hoard containing more than 4,000 fourth-century CE coins was found on the site. The villa was a large building (200 by 170 feet) with a paved courtyard.
