Najafabad

Najafabad (Persian: نجفآباد) is a city in Iran and the capital of Najafabad, Isfahan Province. The discovery of a stele of the Assyrian king Sargon II (r. 721-705 BC) indicates that the settlement’s ancient name, at least in the eighth century BC, might have been Kišesim.
