Wādī Ki‘ām Aqueduct (Lepcis)

A Roman aqueduct, probably built during the reign of Hadrian (or possibly Trajan), that brought water approximately 20km from Wādī Ki‘ām to Lepcis Magna, where it is thought to have fed a series of reservoirs, cisterns, and settling tanks prior to distribution to urban fountains and baths. Remains of contemporary dams and aqueduct components paralleling the wadi are thought to have been involved in collection for the aqueduct; the route from there is thought to have been a straight line from the collection apparatus to the city.
