Vitozza

settlement · 750 BC – 2100 AD

Vitozza is an ancient settlement located near the village of San Quirico. Its rock-cut habitations were in use by the Etruscans and Romans and again during the medieval period, continuing up to the eighteenth century. Over 200 caves (columbaria) have been cut in the local tufo bedrock.
