Stadium (Aphrodisias)

The stadium at Aphrodisias dates to the later first century A.D. and is thought to be part of a comprehensive program of monumental construction undertaken at the site. The stadium's form is unusual and scholars assign it to a category referred to as στάδιον ἀμφιθέατρον (an "amphitheatral stadium").
