Sam'al

A Hittite and Aramaean city located at Zincirli Höyük in the Anti-Taurus mountains. The site appears in Neo-Assyrian sources as Samʾalla and Aramaic texts as šmʿl (also yʾdy). It is identified with the modern site of Zincirli.
