Astakos (Acarnania)

An ancient city of Acarnania, established in the 5th century BCE, the site of Astakos lies approximately 2 kilometers north of the modern town that now bears its name. Ancient Astakos was succeeded in Byzantine times by a settlement named Dragamestos.
