Mausoleum of Galla Placidia

An ancient funerary chapel, part of the Santa Croce complex in Ravenna, Italy, possibly built as an imperial mausoleum (ca. AD 417 - 425). The empress Galla Placidia (d. AD 450 ) is the presumed, likely patron of the building, though she is very unlikely to have been entombed within one of three sarcophagi found inside.
