Sapperton and Cirencester amphitheatre

The Cirencester amphitheater is the second largest known in Britannia. Its earthworks supported tiered seats that could accommodate about 8,000 spectators. The amphitheater was converted to a fortified site in the fifth century during the Saxon invasions.
