"Mithraeum" at Eleusis

temple · 30 BC – 300 AD

A small 1st-century AD temple south of the sanctuary of Demeter and Kore at Eleusis, which was identified by the original excavator as a Mithraeum. This is unlikely to be correct. Other suggestions include that it was devoted to the cult of Augustus.
