School of Homer Ag. Athanasios excavations (Ithaca)

A site on Ithaca that local tradition links to both Homer and Odysseus. Excavations in 1998 near the Church of St. Athanasius documented a series of walls including both Bronze Age and Iron Age phases, as well as a Hellenistic building constructed using orthostates, and a circular structure with a diameter of more than 7 meters.
