Monte Sant’Angelo (Tarracina)

A hill at Tarracina where, in Roman times, the sanctuary complex of Jupiter Anxur was built. In the medieval period, it was occupied by a monastery. Secondary deposits displaced by Roman and medieval construction indicate that Monte Sant’Angelo was the site of significant human activity from prehistory through at least the 5th century BCE.
