Crown Prince's Palace at Assur

The Neo-Assyrian king Sennacherib built a residence for his son Aššur-ilī-muballissu in the city of Assur. That house was constructed near the city wall in the southeastern part of city (city plan quadrants l8/l9), near the bank of the Tigris River. This building, which is known from numerous inscribed stone blocks, is often referred to as the “(Crown) Prince's Palace” or “Prinzenpalast.”
