Bewcastle Roman Fort

A Roman fort north of Hadrian's Wall. BAtlas, following Rivet, identified it with "Fanum Cocidi", a toponym that is known only from the Ravenna Cosmographer. Durham rejects this view and would place F. "near the mouth of the river Annan".
