Skerki Bank

natural · 1700 AD – 2100 AD

The Skerki Bank is an area of relatively shallow open sea lying between Sicily and Tunisia. The presence of several reefs made the area perilous for ancient mariners and, from 1988 onward, ancient shipwrecks have been investigated in this area.
