Phanagor(e)ia (island)

The northwest portion of the Taman' peninsula, which is the modern landmass on the Straits of Kerch' opposite modern Kerch' and the eastern Crimea. Modern geophysical study and ancient testimony indicate that this peninsula was an island in antiquity.
