Amphitheater at Castrum Rauracense

amphitheatre · 300 AD – 399 AD

Discovered in late 2021 on the site of the Basler Ruderclub in Augst, this amphitheater lies just west of the Roman fort of Castrum Rauracense. It seems to have been built in an abandoned quarry sometime in the 4th century CE.
