Devipattinam

A modern village located on the Bay of Bengal in Tamil Nadu, just north of the Rameswaram peninsula. Epigraphic and ceramic evidence indicate that the village's antecedent was a thriving locus of maritime trade from the 13th to the 17th centuries CE.
