Emmaus/Nicopolis

An ancient settlement of Judea that is mentioned in numerous ancient sources including the Gospel of Luke. Now situated within the modern Canada Park in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, the site was known in modern times as Imwas and was populated until 1967.
