Abu Ballas

A sandstone peak approximately 200 kilometers southwest of the Dakhleh Oasis, containing extensive pottery remains dated from the 3rd millennium BCE through the Roman period. Abu Ballas was likely a way station along a caravan route connecting the Dakhleh Oasis with Gilf Kebir.
